Florian Schuster-Johnson is Head of Growth & Budget Lab at Dezernat Zukunft. Prior to this, he worked for the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC, the German Economic Institute in Cologne, and the German Federal Bank in Frankfurt.

He holds a PhD from the University of Cologne, and studied Economics and Mathematics in Cologne, Madrid, and Siegen. He works on fiscal policy, macroeconomics, and financial stability in Germany and the EU.
