Lorenzo Moretti is a public policy expert with a background in government, the private sector, and academia. His expertise spans finance, digitalisation, and innovation policy. Throughout his career, Lorenzo has worked in both private and public financial institutions in the US, the UK, and Italy. In his last government role, Lorenzo was policy coordinator for Italy’s Minister of Technological Innovation and Digital Transition during Mario Draghi’s government.
He is a regular commentator on Italian economic and innovation policy. His analyses have appeared in various media outlets including Il Sole 24 Ore and La Repubblica. He holds a degree from Brown University in Economics and Political Science and a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Oxford, with a dissertation on government venture capital in Europe.
