Shahin Vallée is Senior Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and co-Director of its Geoeconomics Program. His research focuses on financial market integration, Eurozone monetary and fiscal policy, the institutional architecture of EMU, EU integration, and Germany’s role in Europe.

Previously, he served as Advisor to the President of the European Council (2012–2014) and to the French Economy Minister (2014–2015), and worked as an economist at BNP Paribas and Soros Fund Management. His policy research has been published in leading journals and featured in outlets such as the Financial Times, The Economist, The New York Times, Bloomberg, Politico, Euractiv, and The New Statesman.
