Lennard Welslau is a PhD Fellow at the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Central Bank, specialising in macroeconomics.
His academic research focuses on fiscal policy, firm dynamics, and heterogeneous agent macroeconomics. He has also published policy-related research on debt sustainability, fiscal governance, and EU borrowing in the Journal of Economic Perspectives, the Journal of Policy Modeling, with Bruegel, and for the European Parliament.
Previously, he was a research analyst at Bruegel (2022–2024) and a research consultant with the United Nations (2020–2022). He has also been a trainee at the European Central Bank and held several research assistant positions.
