Making Fiscal Space Policy-responsive
How can fiscal rules reward policies that strengthen growth and resilience instead of penalising them?
Founded in 2022 with EMPN’s backing, the Instituut voor Publieke Economie (IPE) is now the leading non-governmental economic think tank in the Netherlands.
IPE’s work covers macroeconomics (with a focus on fiscal policy, housing, and innovation), social policy (including taxation), the Dutch position in the EU, and state capacity.
IPE’s senior members have worked as high-level policy advisors within the Dutch civil service. They are supported by a volunteer fellow network that provides deep academic expertise. IPE has a large media presence, close connections to both parliament and government, and a growing track record of policy impact.
