Spyridon Sichlimiris is a senior economic policy expert at the European Macro Policy Network (EMPN). He works on monetary and financial policy issues, with a focus on ECB monetary policy, banking-sector developments and the broader European financial architecture.

Before joining EMPN, he worked in ECB Banking Supervision, where he contributed to the supervision of significant banks and to the assessment of applications for banking licences, with a particular focus on fintechs. Earlier, he worked at Sveriges Riksbank and in academia on international business-cycle transmission, impact of technological change and public debt sustainability.

Spyridon holds a PhD in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics, an MSc in Finance and Economics from the University of Southampton, and a BA in International and European Economic Studies from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
