Paris, France

Clara is the co-founder of Institut Avant-garde. Clara graduated from HEC Paris, the London School of Economics and Université Paris Sorbonne in Philosophy. She defended her doctoral thesis, Genealogy of the French Public Financing System: Public Debt Doctrines From the Interwar Period to the 1960s, under the supervision of Annie Cot and Éric Monnet.

She previously worked at BNP Paribas as a market economist in London, where she followed the G7 central bank decisions, the European credit market and emerging market currencies. She also spent several years at the French Treasury, where she contributed to the development of French positions in European negotiations, including the reform of the European Stability Mechanism; there, she participated as well to the evaluation of alternative public financing tools during the pandemic and to the definition of the French disinflation strategy during the energy crisis.

At Institut Avant-garde, she is particularly focused on devising new tools to finance the green transition, drawing inspiration from international and historical experiences.
