Sander Tordoir is Chief Economist at the Centre for European Reform (CER). His research focuses on Eurozone monetary and fiscal policy, the institutional architecture of Economic and Monetary Union, European integration, and Germany’s role in the EU.
Previously, he advised the ECB Representative at the International Monetary Fund on euro area policies and sovereign debt issues, and worked in the ECB’s EU Institutions and Fora Division on economic and fiscal governance, the EU’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Banking Union, and ESM reform. He has also served as a seconded expert to the German Federal Finance Ministry and as a consultant at the World Bank.
His research and commentary have been cited in outlets including the Financial Times, The Economist, The New York Times, Bloomberg, Politico, and The New Statesman.
